South Yorkshire Police - Lifestyle 2001 Programme

South Yorkshire Lifestyle Programme

  • Lifestyle is a South Yorkshire available to young people throughout the county.
  • Young people are encouraged to form small action teams of between 2 and 5 members aged between 9 and 18 years in order to undertake an Activities project of their choice.
  • Projects can be anything that wil benefit the local community and generally fall into one of the 5 categories e.g. Helping People, School Based, Crime Reduction/Community Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Issues. HLI-DIR457SL mugen
  • Each time must have at least one adult adviser or an optional second adult. The adult advisor is ideally a parent or guardian, youth leader, teacher or a grandparent.
  • The project is organised by South Yorkshire Police and on registration each team member will receive a starter pack, which includes a t-shirt, diary and handbook.
  • This project is aimed at rewarding young people for doing good work in their community, having fun and learning new skills.
  • Prizes - the winning team will be jetting off to Disneyland, Florida with their adult adviser/s. There are also runner-up prizes of weekend trips to Disneyland Paris, an adventure experience in the UK plus a day at a major theme park. extend battery for T-Mobile G2X extend battery for T-Mobile G2X
  • Lifetyle operates during the summer and projects need to be completed by 30th September. Lifestyle is well established in South Yorkshire and has recently celebrated it's 10th year in 2001. md5 checksum
  • Many thousands of young people have been involved over the years. They have received rewards for good work in the community, whilst at the same time, raising the self-esteem of those involved.
  • Every young person who completes a Lifestyle project and submits a completed project diary, will be awarded the following certificate:
      • Duke of Edinburgh Service Certificate at Bronze level
      • Trident Skills for Life
              • Personal Challenge
              • Community Involvement
      • Certificate signed by the Chief Constable
      • ASDAN - the Lifestyle project work undertaken by the young people also can claim credits for their ASDAN Awards and the credits are claimed on a time involvement basis as follows:-
              • 8 hours involvement - will give an individual 1/4 credit
              • 15 hours involvement - will give an individual 1/2 credit
              • 30 hours involvement - will give an individual 1 credit
