This website will be of particular help to those people who wish to take the first step in returning to education, starting a job, training or taking up a leisure activity.

You may have dropped out of education because you found school too formal or boring and now find yourself with no qualifications.

Perhaps you found it hard to learn in school because of a disability, poor home conditions, or difficult family circumstances and did not get the support you needed.

Everyone has a different reason to return to learning.

  • Update or learn new skills
  • Refresh your basic skills
  • Improve yourself
  • Develop your job prospects
  • Broaden your interests
  • Learn about computers and new technology
  • Start studying again
  • Prove that you can learn again
  • Keep your mind and body active
  • Try out a new subject

There are many different ways of learning. Forget about sitting in a classroom with a teacher and homework, like being at school. Most learning activities will take account of your preferences and offer different ways and options to study. Like in the workplace, a community centre or even in the local pub.

You can look here for a course or learning activity which best suits your needs and interests.

You may have faced barriers in the past. This website provides information to help you overcome these. We have provided help on financial support, care for children and adult dependants, and where to get advice and guidance.
